We receive a large number of complaints from residents relating to sewage leaks from the surface water drains. This naturally occurs more frequently following heavy rainfall, and is obviously extremely unpleasant.

Thames Water has advised that they will only attend to clear a blockage while the leak is happening. It's therefore extremely important for residents to report any leaks as soon as these are noticed in order to get action. It also helps to build up a history for a particular location - the more reports there are, the more likely it is that the problem can be given the priority it requires, particularly if these incidents occur outside of bad weather conditions.

The Council office is not always open when these leaks occur and, in any event, it is obviously helpful for Thames Water to have first hand reporting so they can take down all relevant details.

Residents may also contact Thames Water on the number below to report leaks promptly:

0800 714614

Residents are also asked to report leaks (by clicking here) or any foul water network issues (by clicking here) via Thames Water, which is the evidence gathering means that ensures these incidents are properly recorded.
