Wednesday 21st August 2019 - South Molton BC

Anne and Carolyn played their Ladies Over 55 Pairs against Sandy Curtis and Toni McNeil from South Molton. This was a tight game and after eleven ends Anne and Carolyn trailed by just the one shot. At end twelve Anne and Carolyn were holding four shots only for the South Molton skip to play a wonderfully weighted shot to turn a four up into a one down. However, our ladies rallied again and managed to squeeze in front after fourteen ends to lead 9-8.

It felt like something had to give, and so it proved. On end fifteen, Anne and Carolyn finally faltered and conceded four shots. This put the South Molton ladies three shots ahead with just the six ends to play. The four shots proved to be fatal in a match in which no more than two shots had been conceded on any end, and the game slipped from our ladies grasps by eighteen shots to twelve.

Well done to the ladies from South Molton and good luck in the semi-finals.

Commiserations to Anne and Carolyn who fought bravely but unsuccessfully.
