Bovey Tracey Bowling Club

What's been happening?


The club has continued its policy of making improvements during the winter months and, in 2016, work was undertaken to improve the rink surrounds and install an automated watering system.  A successful application was made to Teignbridge Licensing Authority for a Club Certificate which will enable the club to offer members and visiting bowlers alcoholic beverages.

Throughout the 2017 season updates of the men's MDL, Over 55 and the ladies SDL, plus the TLT results can be found in the drop-down results section.

The 2016 Lady Captain Kath Callard, once again this season led the ladies SDL team to gain promotion from Division 4 to Division 3, following promotion last year from Division 5 to 4.The latest league table can be seen in the result drop down section.

Club Captain Trevor Norman's 2016 MDL team finish second in Division 2 and gained promotion to Division 1 for the first time in the Club's history.

To cap what has been a magical 2016 year for Bovey Tracey Bowling Club, the Over 55s Y team reached (for the first time) the final day, in the semi-final they beat Ipplepen BC but lost to Brixham BC.

Andy Walding lost in the final of the 2016 MDL singles to N Owen of Babbacombe and along with Ray Parker also lost the MDL pairs when they were defeated by N Murgatroyd and U Previati from Bitton Park.

On Saturday 19th November 2016 the Club held it's annual Prize Presentation evening at Stover Club which was attended by 70 members and guests.  

Throughout winter 2016/2017,  the club has continued with its policy to improve facilities.  The entrance path alongside the green has been re-paved and the netting protecting the bowling club from cricket balls has been increased in height.
