Volunteer needed for Rhyme Time at Broseley Library

Broseley Library is looking for a volunteer to run their regular Rhyme Time sessions for the under 5s.

What is Rhyme Time?

Rhyme Time sessions include stories, songs and rhymes aimed at pre-school children. They are currently held monthly on Thursdays, 10.30am to 11am (time and frequency may be flexible). Parents/carers remain present throughout the session. A small amount of preparation is required immediately before each session e.g. clearing a space, choosing books.

Skills required

  • Reliable
  • Enthusiastic
  • Comfortable with singing in public
  • Good communication skills
  • An interest in libraries and reading
  • An interest in working with children

What support will I get?

  • Advice and informal training from a member of staff experienced in running Rhyme Times
  • A member of staff present in the library during sessions
  • Resources will be provided (suggested rhymes/songs, puppets, library books)
