Spring Maintenance Day
The Green has now had it`s bit of Spring Maintenance that consisted of verticutting, over seeding, and topdressing. Members may have noticed the amount of thatch, moss and other rubbish that we removed from the turf, this should increase the speed of the surface, suppress disease and help stimulate new growth. The Green has also been given it`s first spring/summer granular fertilizer application.
The work done to control the moss in our green earlier in the the month may have to be repeated, the cold damp recent weather conditions are favouring moss growth that we need to monitor and treat if necessary.
