Broughton Speedwatch recruitment
Broughton Parish Council
Speeding in Broughton. Help make Broughton safer!
Residents in Broughton are worried about speeding vehicles. With your support, the Parish Council wants to continue with Community Speedwatch scheme to tackle this concern. We can get volunteers properly trained to use the calibrated speed gun, just like the police use. We can’t (and don’t want to) fine motorists we find speeding but they will get a warning letter from the police as a reminder. We will also get signs reminding people to slow down and interactive devices that will display the speed of a vehicle for drivers to see. All designed to educate and make drivers aware of speeding in our community. And evidence collected from Speedwatch can be used by the Parish Council in any discussions with the County Council over possible traffic calming methods.
We need your help
We need adult volunteers to join the village Community Speedwatch so we are asking for your help. There is also a vacancy for a Speedwatch Cordinator. A minimum of 1 hour availability per week is required over a 6 week period. Training will be provided prior to joining the scheme.
How to become a Speedwatch Volunteer: Email your full name, address and contact telephone number to Cllr Robson at Isabel_robson73@hotmail.com
YOUR DETAILS WILL NOT BE PASSED ON TO ANY THIRD PARTY. THEY WILL REMAIN WITH THE COMMUNITY SPEEDWATCH PARNERSHIP FOR USE WITH THIS PROJECT ONLY.
