Gentlemen,

From our Management Committee Meeting on the 10th Oct 2022, here are a number of dates and important information that you all need to know,

1. The date for the Alliance Lunch is the 19th October at 1200pm for 12.30 pm and the cost is £2.00 per head. Any member can attend but please let Terry Ewington know in advance. Alan Meyer will be preparing the meal and he needs to know the numbers attending

2. The Cardiff Athletic Club Centenary Year Dinner will be held on the 18th November 2022 at 6.30pm for 7pm at the Arms Park. This will be open to all members, wives, girlfriends and friends. Dress will be black tie, lounge suit, club tie and blazer. The cost is £40 each which covers the meal and entertainment. So please contact Peter Christian as soon as possible to confirm your attendance.

3. The Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday the 25th November at 7pm. All members should try to attend the meeting. Members will be selecting the Management Committee and the team captains for next year. The more that attend, the better represented you will be.

The nomination sheets are on the board in the home dressing room. It will be taken down two weeks before the AGM. There are still a number of vacancies. The posts for Captain and Vice-Captain of the Second Team, Captain and Vice-Captain of the Alliance Team, Fixture Secretary, and a number of Committee Members. If you wish to be fully represented next year, all the positions should be filled. So, please consider putting your name forward.

5. I have received application forms for the County Competitions for 2023. They will be put up on the notice board shortly. To enter, either use the sheets or contact me directly. The competitions are: Open Singles. Open Pairs; Open Triples; Open Fours; Senior Singles; Senior Pairs; Senior Triples; & Over 55 Fours. For anyone wishing to enter there is a £3.00 entry fee per player, per competition. The closing date for entries is the 2nd February 2023. So, I need to collate entries & send them to the County Secretary by that date, Therefore I shall need your entries by the end of January 2023.

6. The Centenary Trip to Tenby in August 2023 is concerned, there is not a lot of time left to get this trip organised. There has been a poor take up so far from our own members. So will you please let Peter Christian know as soon as possible if you want to go. We will open the trip to non-members, if the uptake is slow. Peter will be sending out an e-mail shortly regarding this so can you please reply with your commitment to it or not if that’s the case.
