In a flood emergency SODC and OCC will need to prioritise the help they can provide to the most vulnerable people and properties, and cannot guarantee to supply anyone with sandbags.
In fact, since the fire at the SODC offices in Wallingford several years ago, SODC no longer have a central sandbag store. It is therefore even more important that residents take whatever steps they can to protect their own homes, particularly those who live in the flood plain, near a river or stream, in a potential flash flood risk area, or whose house has previously been affected by flooding.
