CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19)
Cheltenham Whaddon Bowling Club
The Committee has discussed this issue and has decided that for now we should manage the risks around Coronavirus (COVID-19) by following the advice issued by Public Health England (PHE), along with travel advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).
We would request that members and visitors to our club adhere to the same advice. Specifically, no one who has been advised directly or indirectly to “self-isolate” because of their travel history or contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 Coronavirus should visit the Club.
This means that you should not come to the Club if:
- You have a cold, cough or high temperature
- You have travelled from or through an infected area within the last 14 days
- You have had close contact with or helped care for anyone suspected or diagnosed as having Coronavirus (COVID 19) or who is currently subject to health monitoring for possible exposure to Coronavirus (COVID 19)
- You or any person you are in contact with has had a fever of 100.4°F/38°C or higher, felt feverish or had chills or had symptoms of a cough or difficulty in breathing.
The latest advice for the public outlining this can be found here https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public
Both Bowls England and the English Short Mat Bowls Association (ESMBA) have issued statements similar to the above and will not be cancelling or postponing any events at this stage.
In line with this policy, the Club also proposes to continue with its program of events, mostly Short Mat competitions at present. However, the Committee will keep the situation under review and, if there is any worsening of the outbreak and/or Government advice changes, will of course take the appropriate action.
