If anyone is interested in learning how to mark a game of bowls, there is a course available in Bristol on 1 March 2020. It's an interesting day - classroom in the morning, followed by practical demos and opportunity to practice what you have learned in the afternoon.

Bristol Indoor Bowls Club, South Liberty Lane, Bristol BS3 2TY on Sunday 1st March 2020

The course is open to all club members and you will receive an Attendance Certificate, which will be the first step whether you want to be a Marker in your own Club progress to become a County or National Marker or a Regional Umpire. The course will be completed in one day, and MUST start at 09.15am. Tea and Coffee will be available throughout the day and a lunchtime meal can be selected and ordered on the morning at your own expense.

The program includes a light hearted fun “Quiz” & explanations on all aspects of the Laws as they relate to marking and practical work including measuring, positioning, communication, etc. and although there is no exam you will be required to complete all measuring exercises to then receive an attendance certificate. Cost of the course is £10 and if you wish to go on to become a member of the EBUA then membership forms will be available at the course or from the EBUA Website.

If you are interested please contact me with your name, email/ telephone contact details or you can collate others from your Club, who also wish to attend. It is the hope of the Association to have at least two qualified markers in every Club.
