Many members have been asking about progress on preparing the green for the coming season, following the well-known problems we had during the exceptional summer of 2018.

Work on the green has been continuing over the winter in accordance with the improvement plan drawn up as a result of an expert inspection in October 2018. Damage caused by animals has been repaired and netting has been attached to the perimeter fence to prevent a recurrence. Bare patches have recovered completely and edges have been repaired or returfed.

The Green Committee would therefore like to reassure members that the green will be fit for play when the green is opened on 14 April. If this situation changes (highly unlikely unless we have extremely unfavourable weather), the Committee will of course inform members immediately.
