Christchurch Twinning Association
Christchurch Twinning Association is an independent, pro-active voluntary funded organisation formed in 1982 in response to the formal town council mayoral links with St Lo the previous year. Our aim is to promote community and social links between the linked towns of Christchurch (New Zealand), Aalen (Germany), Saint Lo (France). In 2013 we took on responsibility for twinning links with Tatabanya (Hungary).
The Association being self funding receives no financial support from the local authority (Christchurch Borough Council) and welcomes its members from the towns of Christchurch, Highcliffe, Bournemouth and surrounding communities. It undertakes to maintain those links with our twinned towns and communities previously performed as a civic function.
We rely very much on Social events and membership fees to cover our running costs and fund activities.
