Green Vision Group

Collingham Parish Council supports positive action on climate change and catalysed the bringing together of local people to make positive local changes to the local environment.

The Collingham Green Vision Group was born and invites you to join in with local initiatives to reduce Collingham's impact on the environment locally, nationally and globally.

Local Recycling Options:

Kerbside collection grey bin: paper, card, tins/cans, plastic bottles and tops, yoghurt pots and margarine tubs

Kerbside collection brown bin: garden waste

N.B. Annual permit £35 - see NSDC website for more details

Newark recycling centre: glass, foil and aluminium food trays, water filter cartridges, electrical items, batteries, light bulbs, textiles (including bedding and clothing), scrap metal, bicycles, scrap wood/timber, cooking and engine oil, paint, and garden/green waste

Recycling centre opening hours

January and February: 8am to 4pm

March: 8am to 6pm

April to September: 8am to 8pm

October: 8am to 6pm

November and December: 8am to 4pm


Charity shops: preloved items such as clothes, shoes, books, DVDs, toys and bric-a-brac

Selling websites: sell your unwanted stuff on sites such as Facebook Buy It Sell It Collingham Village, eBay and Gumtree

Free websites: offer your unwanted stuff for free on sites such as Freecycle


Soft plastics: e.g. bread bags, carrier bags, crisp packets are being collected by the Co-op in Collingham, as well as Waitrose in Newark, and some Tesco stores

Bras for Africa: Janice Rose Lingerie in Newark can confirm your nearest drop-off location

Furniture: the Furniture Project in Ollerton takes beds, bedding, curtains, crockery, electrical items and clothing and can collect for free The Children’s Air Ambulance in Newark also collects furniture locally

Wood: Collingham Men in Sheds can use this for their community projects; phone 01636 894 274 or 07944 630 860

Paint: tins of good re-usable paint can be donated to the Notts Community RePaint Scheme at Beeston, Calverton, Newark or Warsop recycling centres
