At the always popular, Collingwood Bowling Club’s Social Evening, held on Saturday evening.

An added attraction to the evening is in that it allowed family and friends to support our 2018 achievers during the presentation of the trophies – well done to all.

The evening’s two entertainers were first class as was shown by the rapturous response from the audience, although the singer’s Grandfather did look rather tired by the end of the evening.

A “Thank You” must go out for the generosity of members who kindly donated the great array of raffle prizes – during the trophy presentation one member was heard to say she wished to aspire to that level of bowling next season.

As for this writer, one’s only wish is to aspire to obtaining a place at the table of the family and friends who kept producing winning raffle tickets – although fair to say – you could hardly see a blank space on their table due to the large number of tickets they purchased - well done!

The evening was, as ever, a great success.

However, it goes without saying that a great deal of organisation and hard work takes place behind the scenes to ensure the evening is enjoyed by all.

In that respect thanks go to Collingwood’s Batman & Robin – Mr Collingwood Bowls - AKA Club Chairman, Michael Wilson ably supported by Club Secretary Fabian Scott for their continuing untiring efforts.

Photographs of the evening can be seen in ‘the gallery’
