And what a day it was for our lady members who took part in the Ladies 4 Bowl Championship on Saturday 28th July.

Although the competition was played in the usual friendly atmosphere, it was also extremely competitive with more than enough examples of quality bowling.

With results swinging one way and then another it was impossible to predict the final outcome as could be seen by organiser, Collingwood’s secretary Fabian Scott collating the rink scores.

After an extremely busy and exciting day the two ladies who prevailed to the final are: Collingwood’s current two times champion Kate Aide and Pat Thompson. Both ladies excelled in what was a very close and hard fought competition. The final looks as if it will be a real hum dinger!

Special thanks must go to our club secretary Fabian Scott who’s organisation and continued activities during the day made the Ladies 4 Bowl Championship a savour to be involved in or to watch.

Of course, congratulations go to Collingwood’s lady bowlers all of whom put on a special display of bowling.
