Every Lawn Bowling club looks forward to summer bowling and Collingwood is no exception.

So far, we have enjoyed bowling in the warmth of summer afternoons and evenings – and in the worst of pouring rain – so much for our British summertime.

Nevertheless, Collingwood has seen a great start to the bowling season in welcoming teams to matches at our green – which looks to be in good condition.

Of more importance, our Saturday morning open sessions has resulted in new members joining the club.

Collingwood invites anyone to come along to the club on a Saturday morning, meet members, have a cup of tea and hopefully baked goodies in friendly surroundings and have the opportunity to give lawn bowling a try.

Collingwood Bowling Club prides itself in not only being a competitive bowling club, but also in the social aspects of life, hence the large turnout of members, friends and families at our social evenings.

The last two Saturdays of our plant sale event saw a huge number of visitors taking the opportunity to obtain quality plants which will no doubt keep many gardeners busy over the Bank Holiday, it would be of no surprise to see some return to try out bowling.

The season begins to gather momentum now with matches in the different leagues and of course within our inter club competitions – exciting times for every bowler.

Come and give it a go – you will always receive a warm welcome at Collingwood Bowling Club.
