About the Bowls Club

Welcome to Cottenham Bowls Club

The club was formed on the 15th May 1940 when “about 40 intending members” met at the Recreation Ground Pavilion. The annual subscription was agreed to be 10 shillings” (50p). On March 18th 1942 a committee meeting held at the Chequers Public House proposed and agreed that the club be affiliated to the Cambridgeshire County Association. Today we are a club with around 70 male and female bowlers and social members and bowl outdoors in three different leagues as well as our own Club and Cup competitions. Throughout the season we also have a number of BBQ’s and Drives, or you can choose to just enjoy a roll-up with friends. And if that’s not enough we have two short mats to use indoors during the winter months where we just bowl for the fun of it.
