Kier Transportation/Highways, on behalf of Shropshire Highways, have advised of the upcoming temporary road closure:

Upcoming Bridge Works – Cound Arbour Bridge Closure

Dear Customer,

We are writing to inform you of upcoming Bridge work that will be taking place in your area, including vegetation clearance and a bridge inspection.

Where is the work?

The works will require a full road closure on Upper Cound Start 60mph to Cound Arbour Junction with A458, Shrewsbury. A map is provided for reference.

When is this happening?

The works are scheduled from Monday 23 to Friday 27 November, between 7am and 5pm each day.

Please be aware that these dates may change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Any updates will be shown on local advance warning signs and on https://one.network/

How will this affect traffic?

A signed diversion route will be in place for the duration of the closure.

Will there be access through the works area?

Access over the bridge will be restricted during the works. However, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be permitted to pass through the closure and will be escorted by our site team when it is safe to do so. Vehicle access across the bridge will not be possible whilst the closure is in place.

How can you help?

Please avoid parking on the road during working hours. This will help us complete the works efficiently and reduce disruption. If the access restrictions cause any difficulties, please speak to our team on site or contact us using the details below.
