Awareness @ Barrio Fiesta July 2025

After an early set up in Queens Park to encourage oure awareness of lions international a lovely lady came to me and introduced herself , she’d recognised the Lions international bunting I’d made and it brought a tear to her eyes . Her dad who passed away in 1990 had been the Philippines International  Director, she showed me his photo with so much pride for the changes he’d made whist in service . It was an honour to have my photo taken with her so she could show her family .
Dispite  the rain I stuck it out again and then from nowhere as if targeted by something a gust of wind hit my gazebo leaflets flew banners went one away I went another holding onto the gazebo with all my might. Sadly MIAB fly like Dorothy in her red shoes !!!
that was the awareness days end ….. not before I gave 35 bottles away and chatted to one very distressed lady who had been given a DNAR the day before . she left our stand feeling a little emotionally better as I’d explained it … something the Drs hadn’t done in a positive way … mental health hopefully for that lady will be a better night sleep

sometimes our service just has to be the right words and an ear to listen
