The Rules

In a ladder competition, players are listed as if on the rungs of a ladder.
The objective for a player is to reach the highest rung of the ladder.
The competition proceeds via a system of challenges.
Any player can challenge a player directly above them, or two places above them on the ladder.
These challenges may not be declined.
If the challenge is declined, the challenger & challenged player swap places on the Ladder.
Similarly, if the challenger wins the match, then he/she swap places on the Ladder.
If the challenger loses, then they may not challenge the same person again without challenging someone else first & vice versa.
When a player is challenged, they have seven days from the time of the challenge to play their game.
If the challenged player can't play the game within that seven day period, they drop one place on the Ladder.
Challenges can only be declined in exceptional circumstances.
You can't challenge someone if they already have a game planned, & also not until their game has finished.
Games will be played to 21.
No 'Touchers’, & ’Jack in the Ditch’ is a ‘Dead End’.
Only one visit to 'The Head' per player per end.
Enjoy the games folks, & remember, its just a social, friendly set up.

We now have a physical 'Ladder' which is situated in the Pavilion, where players can organise the positions themselves.
