National & County Competitions

Entries for the 2022 BE National Competitions are solicited by Bowls England, and for the 2022 BH County Competitions by Bowls Hampshire via the Club, and are open to all Club Members.

National Competitions                                                                  

Bowls England offer a range of competitions, so please visit to view what's on offer, expected to be published by November 2021. Please note that all early rounds are played off within the local area first, to reduce the need for travel.

To enter, members must complete and submit their entry form, and make their payment, direct to Bowls England as advised on their website-page. The Club will not be handling or consolidating any member's entries/payment for these National Competitions.

County Competitions

Entry for the 2022 County Competitions are solicited by Bowls Hampshire, via the Club, and these are open to all Club members:

Men's & Ladies' each offer the following competitions:

  • 4-Wood Singles
  • 2-Wood Singles
  • Pairs
  • >70 Golden Pairs (Men) / Golden Girls Pairs (Ladies)
  • 3-Wood Triples
  • 2-Wood Triples (Men) / Benevolent Triples (Ladies)
  • Fours
  • >60 Senior Fours

The invitation letter and forms are in the black hanging folder above the County board in the clubhouse.

The 2022 entry fee is £4.00 per competition, for each person taking part.

To enter, please contact Charlie Read, acting Men's Secretary, or Mandy Collins, Ladies' Secretary, to whom completed forms are to be respectively returned. Payment is to be made to the club in one of our usual ways. Requested entries without payment of entry fee are, as usual, considered as incomplete and not valid.

Closing date within the club is Sunday 23 January 2022, following which valid entries will be submitted by the Club to Bowls Hampshire.

The draws for these 2022 individual County Competitions are expected to be made during Spring 2022.

Note that national and county individual competition matches typically attract a green fee for the 'away' player, but payable to the hosting Club by the 'home' player. For matches at Crofton, this fee is currently determined as below.
