Deddington Farmers' Market
Grants and Donations
What happens to the fees paid by the stall holders?
After deducting expenses like publicity material, new stalls, insurances, crew t-shirts and an annual dinner (using market produce), held in a local pub to reward all those volunteers that make the market possible, there is a surplus. This is gifted to Deddington parish organisations and those who serve our community and are in need of a grant.
In October this year we gave awards to 1st Deddington Boys' Brigade, 1st Deddington Scouts Group, 1st Deddington Guides, Deddington Brass, Deddington , Friends of Deddington Church, Friends of Deddington Library, Friends of Hempton Church, Deddington CofE Primary School,Windmill Club, Adderbury, Deddington and District Photographic Society.
Previous recipients include Deddington on Air, Friends of the Castle Grounds, Deddington Cricket Club, Banbury Food Bank and various youth groups, Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance, Banbury Citizens Advice Bureau plus a defibrillator to South Central Ambulance Service.
