2017 COUNTY SINGLES CHAMPION: KIERAN DANIELS (20/4/2017)

Kieran Daniels won the County Singles Trophy at Torquay United on 20th April at Torquay United, 21-13 against Geoff Bellamy.

DEVON WIN LIBERTY TROPHY For the first time since 1992/3   (15/4/2017)

Devon have won the Liberty Trophy, and at last the tag as under achievers has been removed, beating Cumbria 114 - 82 at Nottingham IBC on Saturday 15th April 2017. The game started off very evenly and at 5 ends Devon were behind 28 - 30 but by 10 ends Devon had started to prove their superiority and forged ahead 60 - 46 and by 15 ends have moved to 90 - 67 in front. There was no way back for Cumbria as Devon tightened their grip on winning the trophy for the first for 25 years, a truly magnificent season of Liberty results!

Congratulations to all the guys on a fantastic achievement!!!!!

COUNTY FINALS 2017:  (8 & 9/4/17)

The majority of the County Finals took place over the weekend of 8/9 April with the
exception of the County singles which will be played on Thursday 20 April at Torquay.
Results as follows:-

Unbadged Singles

Winner:       Kieran Daniels (Exonia)
Runner-up: Antony Hammett( South Hams)

Under 21 Singles

Winner:       Scott Eveleigh (Exonia)
Runner-up: Jimmy Smith(Honiton)

County Triples
Winners:       John Read, Phil Hackett & Alan Bowden (Torbay)
Runners-up: John Berry, Gary Howland & Alan Reed (Isca)

CHARLES PARROTT TROPHY FINAL 2017:   TORBAY 41  TORQUAY 32 (8/4/17)

Torbay and Torquay played for the Charles Parrott trophy on Saturday 8 April at ISCA. This was a very competitive game and although Torquay held the advantage in the early part of the game eventually Torbay ran out the winners with a score of 41-32. Congratulations to both teams.

OVER-60s COUNTY TROPHY FINAL 2017:   ISCA 87 PLYMOUTH 78 (5/4/17)

The Over 60 County Trophy final was played at Mid Devon today. This was a very close match which until the final stages could have gone either way however ISCA managed to win 87-78. By winning ISCA held on to the Trophy they won last year.

COUNTY TROPHY FINAL 2017:   PLYMOUTH 82 TORQUAY UNITED 76 (31/3/17)

The County Trophy Final was played at Mid Devon on Friday evening (31/3/2017). This was a close match with Plymouth eventually coming out on top against Torquay United by 82-76.

Glynn Lawrence (Plymouth) 18 v John Evans (Torquay) 17

Mike Avent (Plymouth) 18 v Ryan Whitlock (Torquay) 21

DEVON RETAIN NATIONAL U25 INTER COUNTY DOUBLE RINK @ Melton Mowbray (26/3/17)

In a very close and hard fought match against Lincolnshire Devon went in to the last end with the scores at 31 - 31 and with J Hampton`s rink playing the last end. As the end developed with just the skips to play, and shot changing with most woods delivered, Devon were shot down but after two terrific bowls it was left to the Lincolnshire skip to save the game!! Fortunately he failed and Devon were crowned England champions for the second year running!!!!!!!

TOP-CLUB FINAL 2017:   TORQUAY-UNITED 2017 TOP-CLUB CHAMPIONS (19/3/17)

The Top Club was won by Torquay United who beat Exonia by 3-2 winning the 4 wood singles, triples and rink.
