The Council have been advised Despite the wider voucher scheme being currently paused whilst the contract for Project Gigabit is awarded, Openreach are working through a process of presenting opportunities to BDUK in instances where their programme of work is able to deliver connectivity before the contract, and at significant value. The reason I am briefing you on the matter is because they’ve let me know of a scheme to upgrade the Dunham-on-Trent exchange which includes connections to Laneham, Dunham-on-Trent, Newton-on-Trent, Fledborough, Darlton and Ragnall. The good news is that the scheme has had funding approved by BDUK, and the programme to connect 649 premises only requires around 80 validated vouchers.” Basically, it just needs 80 properties to sign up and the whole area will be upgraded.
