April 2026 Update

Hi to all our members and friends, as most of you will be aware the green is now open and our League games have started in nearly all our leagues fixtures and results can be found in the links provided in the fixtures & Links section.

Our first club competition of the season took place on Friday the 27th March, a new competition and it proved a fun night, Five ends Friday and was won by Mr Harry Derbyshire here are the results,

FIRST ROUND

Twenty-six players braved a chilly North Westerly blow for this pre-season sharpener under the Eagle & Child floodlights. From the First Round stage of six groups, sixteen players made the cut for the knockout stages. Group winners were Ronnie Roberts, Matt Hoyles, Mick Bibby, Shell Anderton, Steve Marginson and Harry Derbyshire. Best second placed were NIgel Tomlinson and an unbeaten Carolyn Lancaster.

The next competition might see the use of our very new scoreboards that Carolyn Lancaster got for us by means of a local grant, well done to her.

On the club front Wednesday morning social bowling which was very successful in 2025 starts again on the 8th April 10.00am to 12.00am

On a sad note the funeral date,s for the lovely Christine Boxell will be 13th April, 12.30 at Charnock Richard Cemetery followed by drinks at Fox Lane. C.C.

And for the wonderful Jack Ganderton, 9th April 2.30 at Leyland St Mary’s Church followed by drinks at Fox Lane.
