Eastney Bowls Club
The Matches should be played by the date at the top of each round. The challenger should arrange the match with his opponent including arranging a marker if required.
The matches will all be played during one day and will consist of 21 ends.
The partners and matches will be drawn on the day.
The matches all took pl;ace on a wet 3 September 2017. The draw was made in front of all concerned before play commenced shortly after 10am. Each round was played, with scores collated before the next round took place.
The final was between Peter King (Skip) and Ivor Gardner (Blue) and Bryan Cherry (Skip) and Dave Watkins (Yellow). Peter and Ivor were winning by two shots going into the final end. By the time Bryan had rolled his third bowl Bryan and Dave were 5 shots up on that end. Peter came in to roll his last wood and sneaked in to take the shot. Bryan had the unenviable task of taking Peter's wood out and restoring the head that they had before. Sadly that was not to be. It certainly made for an interesting end. Congratulations to Peter and Ivor for their win and Bryan and Dave for their part in an exciting game.
