Elkesley Parish Council
Great news! The Government has officially approved the A614/A6097 upgrade scheme.
We’re proud to announce that plans to upgrade five junctions along the A614/A6097 are moving up a gear following approval from the Department for Transport!
The £41.8million scheme to reduce congestion, make journeys quicker and support future developments includes:
- Widening approaches at Ollerton roundabout to provide two entry lanes, which will increase traffic capacity.
- Adding a third lane on the A612 Nottingham Road approaching Lowdham roundabout to increase traffic capacity.
- Constructing an extended merge lane to simplify the Warren Hill junction.
- Two ahead lanes along the A6097 Bridgford Street/Kirk Hill junction plus separately signalled right turn lanes to both East Bridgford and Newton.
- A maintenance and relining scheme at White Post roundabout.
Today’s approval from the DfT includes £24.3million to accelerate the scheme.
