Bassetlaw District Council Supplementary Planning Document Consultation

Dear Consultee,

The Council is currently consulting the community and interested parties on the new draft Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs).

The SPDs will help set standards on houses in multiple occupation and householder extensions. On adoption, these documents will become an important tool for everyone delivering new development across Bassetlaw.

The SPDs will provide additional guidance and details about how to interpret polices in the Bassetlaw Local Plan and the type of information that should be provided with the planning applications.

The SPDs that the council are currently consulting on are:

• Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) SPD

• Householder Extension SPD

The findings from this consultation will be taken into account and where appropriate will inform the final version of these documents.

The consultation commences 17th September 2025 on and closes by 5pm on 29th October 2025

All of the SPD’s can be viewed on the Supplementary Planning Documents section on the council’s website, at the Council offices in Worksop, Retford and Harworth & Bircotes and libraries in the district during normal opening hours.
