Who We Are
Every Step Counts is a gentle, supportive walking group which run eight walks in the district.
It is aimed at people who would like to get outside, chat and meet new people at the same time as improving or maintaining their fitness.
The walks are shorter than a health walk and encouragement and support is provided every step of the way.
The walks vary in time, length and speed to accommodate people’s abilities and needs and initially last 20 minutes, although there is always an option to do more or less for those who wish to and are able.
The walks are led by trained walk leaders who are volunteers.
After the walk there is always an option to have refreshments in a nearby café and to enjoy the company of the group.
It doesn’t matter if you can only manage a short distance, are recovering from an operation, are trying to lose weight or need someone to encourage you to exercise. Every Step Counts
All our walks have been risk assessed for Covid 19
