MSDC DEVELOPMENTS NEIGHBOURING FELBRIDGE - Crawley Down Road
While this was a single 200 dwelling site for planning purposes with permission secured from MSDC, it is being treated as two separate sites for construction and sales. The site at No. 71 is being managed by David Wilson Homes and the site at No. 123 by Barratt Homes.
No. 71 Crawley Down Road - David Wilson Homes
Construction Site Manager moves to site on 23 February
Tarmac is being delivered w/c 12 February inadvance of the road through the site being constructed. Portacabins will then be delivered for the delivery storage area and compound behind Football field.
Once the road has been constructed, the fencing for the site entrance will be moved further within the site to allow off road waiting for HGVs only if necessary. There will be no routine parking of HGVs on Crawley Down Road and HGVs will not be permitted to reverse into the site. They will drive in, turn, and drive out again. Wheel washing will be in place so tyres can be cleaned on exit.
The grass verges which were damaged by South East Water will be reinstated in April.
Damaged sections of road (where trenches were dug) to be resurfaced in June - further services work will take place before then
The Show Home will is scheduled to open at end June (car parking to be provided).
No. 123 Crawley Down Road - Barratt Homes
This development started a few weeks earlier and the road within their site has already been constructed. Both the Site Manager and Asst. Site Manager are now on site. Their compound is also to the back of the site. The Site Managers have committed to monitoring HGV deliveries and will issue warnings to those ignoring the signs and using Rowplatt Lane
Both sites have set delivery times for 0900-1500.
It is in the interest of both sites for the damage to Crawley Down Road to be repaired or reinstated before their show rooms are opened and marketing starts in late June/July.

DM/23/2699 LAND SOUTH AND WEST OF IMBERHORNE UPPER SCHOOL (Welbeck Developments)
Mid Sussex District Council approved this application in February 2025. The development off Imberhorne Lane will include 550 dwellings and 150 retirement apartments. No funding has been specifically allocated to improvements at the Star Junction. The developer has agreed to deliver a 'country park' near the Gullege Bridleway and new sports facilities before construction commences. Buildings were to be provided for a GP surgery and a primary school however, NHS England have not confirmed whether a surgery will be provided and WSCC has said that there is no need for an additional school. There is no guarantee that WSCC will adopt either building to provide these facilities. Welbeck Developments who had been liaising with Felbridge Parish Council have now sold on the development. www.vistryeastgrinstead.co.uk
