Fernwood Residents Association
Fernwood is a modern Village on the outskirts of Newark on Trent. It currently has over 950 homes, a Village Hall and a clock tower. There is a thriving day nursery, a new school (initially for infants and juniors) was opened in September 2012. The village has:
It has a fast expanding commercial business park providing employment opportunities. As well as a new 60 bed care home.
There are plenty of leisure facilities in Fernwood with tennis courts, football pitches, a children's playground, a trim trail, a meadow, and wooded areas providing habitats for a variety of wildlife. It also has a bat tunnel and an area of rare grasses.
Residents are encouraged to take part in the many activities on offer.
The village is thriving with a Parish Council, Mothers and Toddlers, Fernwood Forest Schools, a group for the over 55’s, an Amateur Dramatic Society, junior and senior football teams. In addition there is a Conservation Group a Petanque (Boule) Group and not to forget a dynamic and active Residents’ Association.
