St Denis church (C of E) is situated on Main Street, Morton (Please see map below). The current Church dates from 1758, although there has been a church on this site since medieval times (for details see ‘History of Morton’ . Since 2011, this church has been part of the West Trent Benefice which comprises 7 parishes, namely: St Peter & St Paul Upton; Holy Trinity Rolleston; Priory church of St Peter, Thurgarton;  St James’,Halloughton; St Mary’s church, Hoveringham, St Mary’s Bleasby, and St Denis, Morton.

The priest-in-charge of the West Trent Group is The Reverend Phil White, whose monthly newsletter can be found in the Tatler

Please contact either The Rev’d Phil or one of the churchwardens if you know of someone who needs a home visit, or whom you would like to be mentioned by name during our regular Sunday services.  There is also a basket just inside the Church where requests for prayers can be written.

The Church is open between approximately 9- 5 pm during 'British summer time i.e  ' from late March to late October. For access to the Church at other times, please contact a Churchwarden

Charitable Giving: As part of our outreach, the St Denis' PCC selects various charities to support throughout the year, money for which is collected using both our  'CHANGE FOR GOOD' collection cans strategically placed around the village including in  the Full Moon Pub and Fiskerton Village Post Office, as well as the offertories over the Christmas period and Plough Sunday.

We are currently supporting the Newark Emmaus Trust, a local charity that supports young homeless people, and 'Bungoma Calling', a charity which supports the St Dorcas orphanage in Kenya, which Rev'd Phil has special links with, and have recently sent money to 'Framework' the Nottinghamshire charity that supports homeless and vulnerable individuals in the area

We also support the Newark Women's Aid charity, both financially and via donation of non-perishable goods. A collection box for the latter can be found just inside the church door at St Denis, and all contributions are most welcome.
