The Parish Council's entry (Positivitree) into the Fleckney Christmas Tree Festival was a great sucess with over a 130 local residents sending in their comments about what is good about the village. We did not win, but it was hughly rewarding to read all positive comments about the village and what makes it such a good place to live,

The tree is now on display in the Sports Centre.

Here are a selection of the comments::

Den building in Millennium woods

During covid I was shielding and without Fleckney community support I'd have faded away, bringing me medicine, food but most of all a socially distanced smile. The kindness of relative strangers is what makes a village HOME. Thank you ladies, you know who you are.

Each time we go to Millennium wood the den building has progressed, it's wonderful that everyone respects the space and keeps it nice.

Eclectic Community. David

Emma, I love our running group. Genuinely life changing. Thank you running ladies.

Fleckney is what I'd call a "Proper village". Good old fashion values of respect, looking out for one another, and nice manners. Mary

Fleckney village residents are often so willing to give up their own time to volunteer, to help others, to support each other. The village is a supportive kind community, I'm proud to live here.

Fleckney will always be my home. After 47 years I can't imagine living anywhere else. Beautiful countryside but even more beautiful people- from coop staff, library ladies, passers by on the street, neighbours and friends. Fleckney is the village of smiles. B xxx
