Fixtures Summary

Club Friendlies – Club Friendlies are extremely important in the life of the club. Not only are they an excellent way to meet other clubs and bowlers in a friendly and social atmosphere, home matches are one of the main revenue streams that the club is so dependent upon.

On average 34 Club Friendlies are scheduled in a season, from which each club member is expected to play a minimum of three in support of the club. In most cases these matches are played on a Home and Away basis, although there are a couple of bi-annual matches. All the matches are played on a Saturday and/or Sunday afternoon, with the exception of one which is played on a Thursday afternoon and which is played only at Home.

A&D League – Aldershot and District Mens league played on a Tuesday evening. Each team is comprised of three Rinks (4 players per rink). Fleet United have two teams.

Farnham & District Bowling Association - The Farnham and District Bowls Association consists of 16 clubs located within a 7 mile radius of Farnham Bowls Club and is split into two divisions of eight teams, each with promotion and relegation at the end of the season. Fleet United are currently in Division 2.

Games take place on Wednesday evening with two mixed triples at home and two mixed triples away, points are awarded for winning rinks and for the overall aggregate score, a league table is compiled from the results and is published weekly on this web site and circulated to clubs.There are four cup competitions for all teams through out the season, with the finals at the end of the season.

Five other competitions also take place throughout the season. Men's Singles, Ladies' Singles, Men's Pairs, Ladies' Pairs and Mixed Pairs, these competitions are open to any F&D affiliated bowler and are played on a simple knockout basis

Blackwater Valley League - A North Hants Ladies Friday evening league. One team of two Triples (3 players per triple), one triple plays at home, the other away. The overall score determines the league points gained.

Stan Hardman League – A Thursday afternoon Mixed local league. Each team comprises of three triples (3 players per triple) each Triple must have at least one lady or one man. The top two teams in each league go forward to a knockout competition at the end of the season. Fleet United have two teams entered.

Ladies' Team Competitions – There are three main Ladies team Competitions;

·         County Thornbery Trophy – Eight players making up two Rinks (4 players per rink)

·         North Hants Gazette Cup – Nine players making up three Triples (3 players per triple)

 

Men's Team Competitions – There are four main Mens team competitions;

·         County Club Championship – 16 players making up four rinks (4 players per rink)

·         National Top Club - Ten players, making up one Singles, one Pairs (2) , one Triple (3) and one Rink (4)

·         National Two Fours – Eight players making up two Rinks (4 players per rink)

·         Coventry Cup - Eight players making up two Rinks (4 players per rink)

 

Mixed Team Competitions -  National Over 60’s Mixed Double Rink - 2 Rinks, (8 players) 2 Ladies and 2 men per rink.
County Top Club – Eleven players, making up two Singles, one Pairs (2) , one Triple (3) and one Rink (4)

 

The dress code for all the above outdoor games where the players are representing the club are played in Club Colours/Whites, with the exception of the occasional Club Friendly which are played in Greys, for which notification is given at the time.
