Volunteering

Fovant Village Hall has been leased to the community by the Church, through the agency of the Parish Council. But it is run BY and FOR the people of Fovant.

The management committee is made up of volunteers from the community and we do our best to keep everything going. But we need volunteers to help really make the best of this vital community asset.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

General support: If you can cook, move furniture, undertake building or garden maintenance, have DIY experience, our have other useful skills or experience to bring, then we'd love to add you to our list of volunteers.

We'll discuss with you what you'd like to do and how much time you have to spare to help us. So you don't have to commit any more time than you want to.

Lots of new volunteers means less pressure on the others so you'd be helping us and a lot of other people besides.

Run your own Group: Do you have a hobby or interest that you think you might share with other residents? If so, why not run a regular group at the hall?

All you have to do for us, is pay the very small hall hire rate each time your club meets. Any income you bring in above that, is yours. It's your club. But we'll do our very best to help you, including by using this site, our email newsletter and other publicity channels to attract people to your group.

Even if you only have a small seed of an idea, complete the form below and one of us will be in touch.

Join our Committee: Let's be honest, most people don't want to spend a lifetime on the village hall committee. So we're always looking for new people to join us.

In particular, we know that in the spring of next year (2026), we're likely to need a Bookings Officer, AND a new Secretary. Both are very important roles.

The Bookings Officer is the public face of the Management Committee, liaising with everyone who hires the hall. You'll need to be reasonably well organised and wear a smile most of the time, but that means it's a great way to get to know people in the community.

The role of Secretary also is vital. The Secretary not only manages agenda and minutes, they also help the team to keep on top of all the legal issues that we face on a daily basis. It involves using common sense, internet research and networking with information providers and then reporting to the team. If that sounds of interest we'd love to hear from you..
