Friday 21st November at 11am
A fun and social walk and talk.

Meet at Godshill car park, opposite The Griffin PH

The walk will start with a short bus journey towards Shanklin, so meeting at 11am, in time to catch the No.2 bus at 11.10am.

The walk takes us through America Wood, looking beautiful in its autumn colours, across fields and back passing Freemantle Gate. 4.5 miles long and includes some stiles. No big hills but a few inclines, up and down. Be prepared for mud and leaves underfoot, walking pole/s may be useful.

Plus, the opportunity to join us at The Griffin at the end of the walk for refreshments.

All welcome, including well behaved dogs on leads. No need to book.

  • 17 Oct 25 Another great outing today for our very popular Godshill walking group. 33 joined us and 4 (very well behaved) dogs!
  • 39 walkers plus one dog - friends old and new. Fantastic weather added to the day and such a beautiful, scenic route from Ventnor Golf Course and along the Stenbury Trail back to Godshill.
  • 15 Aug 2025 - Our Godshill Walking Group were out again today, despite super scorchio temperatures. Fun as always, fabulous people.
  • 18 Jul 2025 - 31 adults and a dog! Dave bravely took the reins and led his first walk for us. A gorgeous route enjoyed by all in glorious sunshine!
  • 23 May 2025 - Godshill walking group out in the sunshine again this morning! Fab 5 miler from Wroxall, skirting St Martins Down.
  • 17 Apr 2025 - 19 of us, plus one dog, went Up, Up, Up to Worsley Obolisk, for stunning views and then Down, Down, Down, back to Godshill. The sun shone for us too.
  • 21 Mar 2025 - 22 people and 3 dogs joined us for a social walk and talk in beautiful surroundings.
  • 21 Feb 2025 - 16 people and 4 dogs joined us. We changed the route slightly to avoid the worst of the mud and the rain kept away.
  • 17 Jan 2025 - 28 humans and 3 dogs! We avoided most of the mud and the weather was kind. A perfect walking day around Godshill, taking in Freemantle Gate and Appledurcombe House. Some of us even managed a trip to The Griffin afterwards.
  • 20 Dec 2024 - 29 grown ups and 6 dogs set out on the bus to Blackwater to walk back to our lovely village and seasonal refreshments at The Griffin.
  • 15 Nov 2024 - 31 two legged and 4 four legged friends joined us on a circular walk through Freemantle Gate and back via the Donkey Sanctuary.The mild autumn weather was a bonus.
  • 18 Oct 2024 - Perfect weather for a stroll in the countryside.... especially when it's glorious Godshill countryside! Chris, Frankie, plus 26 walkers out having fun today.
  • 20 Sep 2024 - Great start for our new Godshill Walking Group today with 21 walkers out.
