Brian Randal Royden 24th Jan 1935 - 25th Jan 2022

A service was held at the Weston super Mare Crematorium on the 1st March. which was filled with his family, friends and acquaintances. He passed away just one day after his 87th birthday.

Born and bred in Liverpool he was a pupil at Calday Grange Grammar School on the Wirral.

They moved to Portishead in 1974 and he became a director of Initial Services where he spent most of his business life.

Brian was actively involved in charitable activities within Round Table and 41 Club and later on as a committee member of Gordano Probus. He was also an active member of Highdown School PTA at a time when they started the first major Fireworks Display in the late 1970’s. He was a founder member of the Portishead Porters, who provide a taxi service for hospital patients. As well as helping to set it up he continued to be a driver until his compulsory retirement at 80 years old. After that he continued as a coordinator for a few years.

Brian was a warm family man and leaves wife Barbara of 63 years, three children and six grandchildren.

He had a unique sense of humour that quickly cut through any nonsense. You can take the boy out of Liverpool, but you can’t take Liverpool out of the boy.
