Ready for Action

Greasley Miners Welfare Bowls club held a very successful pre-season meeting at the Welfare last Friday 7th.

Five new and  returning members came along swelling the ranks of players availaible for what will be a busy season. Included in this will be several high profile friendlies and the highlight of a trip by coach to Skegness bowls club in July.

New for this season will be the 2 by 3 afternoon league giving the new players opportunity to increase our presence at Coronation Park on weekday afternoons.

Although it seems the Coronation park green won,t open until April 29th Greasley,s first fixture is a friendly at Heanor Town on Tuesday 25th April with a 6pm start, buffet included. All available members are encouraged to attend as everyone will get to play and valuable practice for the rigours ahead will be gained.

If you would like to give lawn bowls a try please come along to Coronation Park after 29th April and you will receive a warm welcome .Our first competitive league match is at Coronation Park is on Tues May 2nd versus Star of Bestwood 6.30pm.
