A Rural Oxfordshire Parish

This is a quintessential English parish, with a village area, surrounded by agricultural and pastoral land, much of which is in the ownership of the National Trust.

The village Reading Room is the venue for activities and events throughout the year, run by various community groups.  In addition, there are concerts and artists' studios are opened to the public annually.

Visitors come from far and wide to visit the medieval Great Barn, one of the largest of its kind in Europe, to admire the bluebells at Badbury Hill, an Iron Age hill fort, and to enjoy distant views of the Uffington White Horse.

There is a lovely film showing the Great Barn from 1955.

For all the latest village news and information see the News and Events pages.
