How much does it cost ?

How much does it cost ?

Our drivers are all volunteers using their own cars. They give up their time for free, but are reimbursed for their mileage, bridge tolls and parking.

Hamble Good Neighbours is a self-funding group but we ask our clients to contribute what they can afford towards the mileage costs.

For example, the expenses claimed for a return trip to Blackthorn Medical Centre would be roughly £3 whereas to Southampton General Hospital would be £15.

If you can help by donating to the cost of your journey, this really helps us to help those in financial need. If you can't, please don't feel embarrassed, this why we are here.

Any donations you can give, go into the envelopes provided. The driver then hands sealed envelopes directly to the treasurer.

Any excess donations go towards supporting the less financially able or are returned to the community through the social events we organise throughout the year.

I just don't know how I would have coped without their help. I had to go to the General every fortnight and after treatment I couldn't manage the bus home again.
