SUCCESSFUL INAUGURAL SNOWS OPEN TOURNAMENT
Hampshire Bowls Coaching Association
We held the new Snows Open Tournament for 16 to under 19 year olds at Banister Park on Sunday 26th February. It was open to Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex where the Snows Motor Group have showrooms. This age group was dropped from the EBYDS School of Excellence by the EIBA so that was why we decided to run this tournament for them.
We had 19 participants on the day for our inaugural event and it was a most successful day. With the 3+year age range group, came closer skilled players producing excellent bowling on the day.
Hot drinks and bacon rolls on arrival, plenty of choice for lunches, a raffle run by the club Vice President Marilyn Stubbington. It was a most successful day with many complimenting on the smooth running by the team and a lot of thank you’s, also compliments via email too.
Snows funded the trophies as seen on the photo, three modern crystal pillars etched with the Snows logo. The large perpetual one in the shape of the London Shard will be engraved with the winner each year and retained at Banister Park, the smaller ones for the winner and runner up to keep.
The winner this year was Tom Allsop from Banister Park! A fitting beginning.....
The runner up was Ryan Nash from Moonfleet Bowls Club in Dorset
