Projects

We carry out lots of different activities in the local community and these are come under two distinct heading of Fundraising and Services.

These activities are inextricably linked as we Fund Raise to provide Services to the local and wider communities.

  • We get involved in fundraising wherever we can, whether this is organising our own events, such as Quiz Nights, Race Nights and other Social Evenings or attending local community events such as Pinner Village Show, St Georges Day Celebrations in Pinner, Eastcote House Gardens Summer Picnic, Croxley Revels.
  • You can find us in our distinctive yellow and blue stalls, providing fun and games such as Tombola, Lucky Dip, Rock Painting.
  • Litter picks to help keep our local areas clean and tidy, see our Facebook page for the next litter pick and come along to help out.  Everything you need will be provided.
  • We host monthly evening events at a local residential home, providing music, teas, coffees and chat to the residents.  Want to come along? Contact us via our Contact Us page. 
  • Take pensioners to the annual Lions senior citizens celebration party, end of Feb each year.  Get in touch to find out more.
  • Annual Lions District Youth Celebration party, end of Nov each year. Want to help, sponsor a table?  get in touch.
  • Hosting Local Young Carers to the District Youth Celebration and various other outings.
  • Funded and part funded Minibuses for Harrow Community Transport.
  • Provided Financial Support to local Nurseries and Community Groups.
  • Taken local Children to Pantomimes and for Days Out at Theme Parks.
  • Provided Supper & Entertainment Evenings to various Residential Care Homes and Community Groups.
  • Provided Christmas Presents from Santa – to local children who would otherwise would not have received anything.
  • Weekly training session for the elderly at Roxeth Library in South Harrow on using their mobile phones, tablet and PCs.
  • Provided Food and Bedding for local Homeless Shelters

In summary – we help, wherever, whenever we can. 

  • Easter Eggs We raffle giant Easter Eggs, max 100 tickets are sold to raise funds.
  • Food Collection We collect food for hampers at Christmas for the local needy and elderly at Waitrose South Harrow. The public were so generous that we were also able to donate 307Kg of food to the food bank.
  • Fund Raising Various events in and around Harrow and Pinner such as Pinner Village Show, Pinner Fair, Eastcote Gardens
  • Musical Evening Each month we hold a musical evening where we provide music, soft drink and nibbles to the residents of a local home as well as sit and talk to the residents.
  • Race Nights We help Harrow Community Transport raise funds by running their Race Night for them, normally raise over £1100 and we also run a Race Night for our own funds.
  • Senior Citizens Celebrations Annual event, in Feb/Mar where in conjunction with other Lions clubs we host over 800 elderly and provide them with a fun filled afternoon, raffle, bingo, dancing and food.
  • Youth Celebration Every year, in conjunction with other Lions Clubs, end of Nov,  we provide an afternoon of fun, food and dancing for the young disable and disadvantaged.
  • Sleigh Runs We have three sleigh runs each, we take our sleigh and Santa around Harrow to raise funds for local causes.
