'Have a Go!' Alton

Sport Activities

There are a wide range of sports clubs and activities open to children and young people in the Alton Area.

Details of local sports clubs and organisations can be found below. For more information about these activities follow the links to the provider websites.

Alton Taekwon-Do offer a variety of classes for children as young as 4 right through to adults. In addition to working on some very basic Taekwon-Do skills, 4 to 6 years concentrate on fun activities and role playing games, to teach the children how to deal with Strangers, Bullies, Emergencies and Day-to-Day dangers, building their self awareness and confidence at every stage.
Whilst maintaining the element of fun, as children move up to the 7 to 11 year classes, the focus leans more towards the Taekwon-Do tenets of Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit. Children learn “personal life skills” including Self Discipline, Confidence, Goal setting and Respect. As well as the obvious benefits of learning a martial art children become fitter and more flexible.
Children from 12 years and upwards train in our adult classes where the emphasis is on keeping fit and developing strength, coupled with the ability to defend oneself. For all age groups it's a great way to stay in shape and make friends, so give us a call on 0800 771 0315 or visit our website for further details.
