Headway Basingstoke’s new group for Carers supporting people with Brain Injury was launched on Monday 30th June at Headway House, Basingstoke.
This pilot project is run in partnership between Headway Basingstoke and The Princess Royal Trust for Carers in Hampshire.
The group was facilitated by Claire, from the Princess Royal Trust in Hampshire, who offered advice and support and gave an overview of their services. Initially carers introduced themselves and talked about their caring role.
The carers led discussions on how the group could run, agreeing on a format that enabled each of them to individually share how their month had been whilst receiving emotional support and practical advice from each other.
To enable Carers supporting people with brain injury to attend their group, Headway Basingstoke runs an activities based Respite Care group for people living with Brain Injury simultaneously. If you would like to attend either the Carers Group or the Respite Group please contact Headway Basingstoke’s main office to make arrangements.
Meetings will be held once a month on the last Monday of the month, 1pm to 3pm.
