Youth Opportunities

The Youth Opportunities Committee of Rotary works with young people from the local area and encourages them in particular through regular competitions.

Young Essay Competition 2021/2

This year we have 6 Junior schools in and around Hertford who are submitting entries to our annual Young Essay competition. Students from year 6 write an essay telling us about a future job/career they would like to have. We judge the 3 best entries from each school and award book tokens from a local independent bookshop for 3rd, 2nd, and 1st. places. We present prizes to all students at an event in May at Hertford Library. Its a very popular competition and the students and teachers seem to very much enjoy taking part.
