Hindringham Parish Council


Hindringham Parish Council has seven Parish Councillors who serve for a four year period. Parish and Town Council elections took place in May 2015, however on this occasion Councillors were elected unopposed or co-opted to serve until May 2019. The Parish Council meet on six occasions every year, every other month in January, March, May, July, September and November. Meetings are held in Hindringham Village Hall.

The Parish Council are consulted by the local planning authority (North Norfolk District Council) on any planning applications within the parish. They look after the grounds maintenance of the Playing Field and the Village Clock on the Church. The Council has to work with principal partners North Norfolk District Council and Norfolk County Council on various issues related to the village, managed on a district or county wide basis. The Council also liaises with the Police who attend most Council meetings.

The Council employ the services of a part time Parish Clerk who looks after the day to day affairs of the Parish Council such as the accounts, taking minutes at meetings and carrying out actions agreed by the Council.
