HINDRINGHAM VILLAGE HALL

Statement for the Information of the Residents of Hindringham

Hindringham Village Hall Committee have, over the past two years been negotiating for a new Lease for the Village Hall.  Sadly agreement was not reached and the Landlord (Norwich Diocese) served Notice to Quit on 28th November 2022.   Hindringham Parish Council and Hindringham Village Hall Committee then instructed specialist solicitors in Norwich and have taken detailed and lengthy advice.  A decision has been made not to oppose the Notice to Quit nor to pursue compensation for improvements following this advice.  The best interests of the village have been paramount in this decision.    The Village Hall will be vacated by the present Village Hall Committee on 31st May 2023 and that charity will be dissolved. The funds held will be distributed under the direction of the Charity Commission as required in law.  Bookings made for the Village Hall will be honoured to 30th May 2023.  The Village Hall Committee would like to extend their heartfelt thanks all those who have supported them in the past, both with voluntary help and bookings to use the Hall.   We hope you will all welcome the new management (Parochial Church Council) and we wish them well for the future of the Village Hall and village of Hindringham.  Further administrative information will be available in due course.
