Some of you may have seen, or heard about, the cows, which have recently been seen loose in and around Hinxton. This has now also happened with the owner’s sheep. The owner has reported to village clerk, that the damage to the fences was deliberate, as the wire was clearly cut.

We have been asked by the owner of the cows/sheep to pass on her thanks to those who have reported sightings. They have been working very hard to round up the animals and return them to secure fields.

However, the owner is very concerned that these fences are being wilfully damaged. This could, of course, lead to extremely dangerous situations, as the cows wander on to the roads and railway tracks. If anyone sees somebody damaging the fences (presumably to allow easier access to the fields), please report this to the village clerk – or the owner, if you have her details.
