Hurstbourne Tarrant Village Show

Best Garden Competition

... and not forgetting allotments!

Good weather and sunshine seem to have finally arrived and gardens and allotments are starting to look good. Why not enter your garden or allotment in the Village Show competition this year?  There are five classes with prizes for all and an HBeeT award:

  • Best Large Garden
  • Best Small Garden
  • Best Decorative Frontage seen from the road or pathway
  • Best Vegetable Garden
  • Best Allotment

Helen Wright (01264 736341) can give you lots more information. Judging is on Monday 2nd July.

This is a fun, local competition – not Chelsea – and points will be awarded accordingly. Remember, you are competing under the same growing conditions as the rest of the community and points may be awarded for the tidiness and eco-friendliness of your garden, as well as the quality of planting. The judges are happy to answer gardeners’ questions if there is time, BUT the task of judging has priority.

Have a look at the gallery for some ideas from past winners.

You can download an entry form here. The Show Schedule, now available, has a printable version. Completed forms, together with an entry fee of £1 per class, should be submitted no later than Saturday 30th June to:

Helen Wright (01264 736341), Claremont House, The Dene, Hurstbourne Tarrant

The judging will take place on Monday 2nd July 2018. Go on – have a go!
