Welcome to Iddesleigh Parish Council website.

Iddesleigh is a small rural parish located on the B3217 in West Devon. The village lies 8 miles north of Okehampton with magnificent views over Dartmoor.  It is an unspoilt idyll.

Our village has ancient origins and is listed in the Domesday Book. Sir Stafford Northcote owned most of the parish at one time and took on the title of Earl of Iddesleigh. The parish church of St James is grade 1 listed with 13th century origins but mostly dating from the 15th century. There are cob and thatch cottages and other listed buildings within the parish. The Duke of York is a listed pub made of cob and thatch. Its façade was used in the TV series Down to Earth and was the starting place for the War Horse story written by Michael Morpurgo.

The Parish Council meet bi-monthly in the Northcote Hall and meetings are open to the public, who have an opportunity to address the council if they wish.
